    or service scenarios but that they will remain wishful thinking if you re not taking into consideration aspects of viability and feasibility as well This starts and all too often ends with the non support of the prospective enabling partner actor network for the service idea The sum of a service experience is often more than its parts so we better make sure that the parts or the network partners have reasons to integrate well and support our value proposition Therefore you will be given a short introduction into a handy little tool called Value Flow Mapping or Value Web which you can apply to your ideas later on You can get a short sneak preview into the topic here Jan Schmiedgen Jan is a Berlin based innovation facilitator who helps organisations in strategically implementing service design business model innovation and branded experience methodologies processes and tools His work is mainly based on the discovery of shared value which he researched during his studies of Communication in Social and Economic Contexts at Berlin University of Arts and Corporate Management Economics at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen Besides his consulting work he is currently developing GlobalWasteIdeas org an idea sharing and collective intelligence a platform dedicated to catalyze innovative ways to deal with waste a project he presented during the first Sustainability Jam Berlin in 2011 Previously he wrote his Master s thesis on The Interrelations of Business Model Innovation Service Design Thinking and the Production of Meaning Jan presented at the Service Design Drinks Berlin in September 2012 where he gave an introduction to the Business Model Canvas and led a hands on session with more than 60 participants For further study of Jan s previous presentation please find his slide deck on Business Modelling below and feel free to leave questions

    among the groups a lavish place to gather is key A bunch of people from various backgrounds and enough bright post its is all you need to transform a place within minutes and empty white walls This is one of the beautiful essentials Fjord s Berlin office offers Brain food within reach is as we had to learn crucial in order to continuously empower jammers to outstanding outputs surprising themselves As well the kitchen is the most social area great for having a chat with participants of other teams and expanding knowledge about brewing best coffee There might be moments when you feel a bit lost when your insights are just too many or the way you wanted to build your prototype is a very bumpy road Although there are always people with know how around willing to lend a helping hand it s good to have some more knowledge sitting on the shelves Despite the short time of the jam getting in touch with people outside of the venue during the design research phase is incredibly valuable Then it s good to know that you re right in the centre of the city and an underground station is right
